Chanel Couture in Detail

Chanel Couture is luxury at its finest.

The spring presentation was all about pure organic,
natural feeling garments, using raw cottons and linens.

"I think it's the first couture collection done in the ecological approach.
It's fun to do this after being high-tech,"
Karl Lagerfeld.

Karl Lagerfeld created a collection of
stunning textured dresses, voluminous skirts
and long line silhouettes.

Do you look forward to Chanel Couture?

The Fairytale Valli Show

Giambattista Valli's Couture Spring collection
showcased Oscar worthy dresses.

Sequins were downplayed in favour of
colourful embroidery and applique detail.

“You know that flowers are my obsession.
This time they come from the Parc de Bagatelle,
the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Palais-Royal,
and the Jardin des Tuileries.”

Giambattista Valli describing the inspiration
of the show, which was a "Thank you" to Paris
after the attacks of last year.

The exaggerated tulle parade of gowns
marked the end of this flower inspired
Couture fairytale.

Watch Giambattista Valli's beautiful
Couture presentation.

Is this what your fashion fairytale
looks like?

Dior Couture without Raf Simons

Dior showed its first Couture collection
without Raf Simons, today.

This was the inhouse design team's effort
without a head creative designer at the
helm of the brand.

The looks were beautiful but still had
something missing....

It didn't feel fresh or as inventive as previous
shows and definitely a smaller collection.

What did you think of Dior
post Raf Simons?

Stella Inspired

Stella McCartney's Fall Presentation on
Tuesday was a star studded event.

Lily Collins was styled to Stella perfection.

Lily's striking look was a pale pink jacket
style dress paired with platform
brogues was so chic.

Get the look with this pretty Topshop jacket
and Stella McCartney Britt Shoes
in Powder Rose.

Statement Earrings

Statement Earrings are the perfect way
to create a chic look.
If the runways at New York Fashion Week was anything to go by,  the more oversized, exaggerated, embellished and bold styles, the better.
The selection of earrings at Topshop
are currently my favourite, with so
much choice, you are bound to find
something you like.

Gucci Green

Sometimes, inspiration comes from the
designer that you least expect.

To be honest, Gucci has never been a brand
that I have took notice, since the Tom Ford years.
However, Alessandro Michele's vision has created
a vision of Gucci's rich Italian history.

Wretched with Gucci's dismal past,
Alessandro introduced antique accessories
or what he describes as "fake vintage",
androgynous cuts and granny chic knits.

"I don't care about the future. The past is an infinite resource."
Alessandro Michele

The spring summer collection was striking
array of electric greens and shades of
soft pinks interwoven within the show.

Alessandro insight to the past has reawakened
Gucci's influence in impacting the
future of what we wear.

Are you inspired to create different
looks from the past?
